Enable mobile calling at the expense of the called parties and launch new reverse charging services.

What is a Collect Call Service?
A Collect Call service allows the calling party to place a call at the expense of the called party. After dialing the service the caller is requested to enter the destination number and to say his name. Prior to connection the caller’s name and call tariff are announced to the Called party for acceptance. In the past, collect calls were operator-assisted, then automated for fixed networks (ex 1-800-REVERSE).

Meeting today’s mobile needs
Opencode’s Collect Call solution is fully adapted to today’s mobile expectations adding further service automation for both voice and data services. It also includes innovative features such as smart white & black lists, and it is available regardless of users’ tariff model (prepaid or postpaid).

A new mobile revenue opportunity
Mobile Collect calling fits the needs of different market segments and has use cases allowing new revenue generation:

  • Kids, students and family calling
  • Enterprise and Business calling
  • Low ARPU subscribers are interested as calling parties
  • Prepaid subscribers with low balance and having need to call
  • Subscribers with recharge difficulties
  • Other cases of reverse and third-party call charging.

Simple and straight forward service
A mobile user can invoke the Collect Call service in different ways:

  1. Using a prefix in front of the destination
  2. Using callback mechanism (USSD or SMS)
  3. Using an IVR
  4. Automatically

The Called Party has the possibility to accept or reject the call and simply provision the caller in a white or black list for further automatic collect calls.

Flexible billing capabilities
Opencode’s Collect Call System provides flexible billing adapted to today’s marketing needs. Roaming and inter-working with fixed networks is supported. Prepaid charging is done in real-time. All major Billing and Prepaid systems are supported.

Forward looking to new reverse charging opportunities
Connected to the switching and billing core network infrastructure, Opencode’s solution achieves other reverse charging revenues open by the Collect Call service. It includes an open service logic builder allowing customization of call flows and billing requirements while seamlessly integrating in the call logic external data sources and services.
